We proposed a scheme to characterize the electromagnetic properties of ferrite with a single and compact fully loaded waveguide system. A three-step procedure are presented. First, a preliminary complex permittivity was extracted using Nicolson-Ross-Weir method in the absence of the magnetic bias. Then, the rough value of saturation magnetization was extracted by measuring the ferromagnetic frequency in order to determine the dispersion of waveguide mode with magnetic field. Finally, we can retrieve the full parameters by the consideration of the modal effect. Four samples with distinctive electromagnetic characteristics were adopted, and the results agree well with the HFSS simulations and the specifications offered from the vendors.
